YMF Participates in Spartan Race at Citi Field Print E-mail
On Saturday, April 13th at Citi Field, ASCE members participated in one of the biggest single day events in Spartan Race history. Unlike the typical Spartan Races that include mud-running in the wilderness, participants ran up bleachers, did push-ups in the visitor's locker room, carried water jugs up and down stairs, jumped over walls up to eight feet high, and much more.

YMF Executive Forum Discusses Raise the Bar Initiative Print E-mail
As the Civil Engineering (CE) Body of Knowledge expands and undergraduate credit hours contract, the CE profession approaches a "tipping point" that puts the respect, effectiveness, and credibility of the profession at risk. The Raise the Bar initiative, supported by ASCE, aims to address this issue by advancing the minimum educational standards for civil engineers.

Younger Members Hit the Slopes at Camelback Mountain Print E-mail
The Met Section's Younger Member Forum joined the North Jersey Younger Member Group and Lehigh Valley Younger Member Forum for a day of skiing and snowboarding at Camelback Mountain in Tannersville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, February 2nd. Before hitting the slopes, there was a presentation by RKR Hess about a recent site design project at Camelback Mountain, which included new additions to their water and adventure park. The presentation included upcoming projects, such as a new hotel and 110,000 square foot water park.

ASCE Helps in Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts at Breezy Point Print E-mail
ASCE has lent a helping hand to a few of the many people who have lost their homes in Breezy Point, Queens during Hurricane Sandy. Those lending assistance included many members of the ASCE, who took their time with Operations Blessing over the past few weekends.
