YMF Hosts Executive Panel Discussion on International Work Print E-mail
Given the current economic climate throughout the United States, many engineers have been placing an emphasis on working internationally or looking at new emerging markets overseas. To provide further insight into this issue, the Younger Member Forum selected "International Work" as the topic for its Ninth Annual Executive Forum; which was held at the new academic building (41 Cooper Square) at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art1 on February 26, 2010.

Three Younger Members Are New Faces of Civil Engineering Print E-mail
Three young engineers from the Met Section have been selected by ASCE as part of the 2010 New Faces of Civil Engineering, a group of ten individuals whose technical prowess and spirit of volunteerism illustrate the enthusiasm and passion of the civil engineering profession.

Each year, the New Faces of Engineering program is held during National Engineers Week in February to celebrate the accomplishments of young engineers from all engineering disciplines, highlighting their careers and their contributions to their communities.

Younger Member Networking Events a Huge Success! Print E-mail
Throughout the year the Met Section Younger Member Forum (YMF) hosts several social/networking events all around New York City. This year we kicked off our social calendar on October 29th at "The Hill", located on Third Avenue, between Eas 29th and 30th Streets. This was a great event with a large turnout from younger members, many of which stayed to watch the Yankees defeat the Phillies in Game 2 of the World Series.

On Thursday October 15th, the Met Section Younger Member Forum (YMF) hosted a professional discussion titled "Career Development: Take Your Career Wherever You Want to Take It!" Anthony Fasano, P.E., CPESC, CPSWQ, LEED AP, whom currently serves as the Rockland Chapter President of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE), was on hand to discuss the many aspects of career development.
