Design Development of the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge Print E-mail
On March 5, 2013 Steven L. Stroh, Ph.D., P.E. of URS Corporation discussed the design of the first extradosed prestressed bridge constructed in the United States, the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven, Connecticut. Mr. Stroh was the design manager and engineer of record for this project.

Seismic Isolation Bearings for the Benjamin Franklin Bridge Print E-mail
On January 30, 2013, Qi Ye, P.E. of Weidlinger Associates, Inc. explained the benefits of replacing vintage 1920's steel rocker bearings with seismic isolation bearings to repair the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. During a biennial inspection of this suspension bridge spanning the Delaware River, the rehabilitation of steel bearing rocker nests was identified as a priority repair.

Accelerated Replacement of Lake Champlain Bridge Print E-mail
On November 12, 2012, Theodore P. Zoli, P.E., M.ASCE of HNTB Corporation explained how Lake Champlain Bridge was replaced using Accelerated Bridge methodology. During a routine inspection in September 2009 the Lake Champlain Bridge between New York and Vermont exhibited significant deterioration was discovered in the bridge piers.

On October 12, 2011, Mr. John S. Deerkoski, P.E., S.E., P.P. of John S. Deerkoski, P.E. & Associates presented a technical lecture on the temporary works elements of Alexander Hamilton Bridge. The Alexander Hamilton Bridge renovation project was the largest dollar value contract New York State let to date.
