Mr. Peter Smith delivered the first technical lecture for the fall of 2011 to the ASCE Met Section Geotechnical Group on the topic of "Energy Piles®, Design and Case Studies". The event was held on October 11, 2011 at the CUNY Graduate Center in Midtown Manhattan.

Nine students from Hofstra University's ASCE student chapter attended the Long Island Branch’s October's technical meeting along with their advisor Dr. Ronald J. Alvarez.

Long Island Branch
|
 On October 13, 2011, the ASCE Long Island Branch held its first technical meeting of the year at Domenico's Restaurant in Levittown, NY. In addition to receiving pizza and soda, all attendees obtained one Professional Development Hour in continuing education credit while learning about Geofoam from Nico Sutmoller of Insulfoam.
