Lower Hudson Valley Branch Scholarships Print E-mail
The Lower Hudson Valley Branch is seeking candidates for the award of $2,500 College Scholarships for the pursuit of a career in Civil Engineering. Applications are sought from deserving High School Students from the Lower Hudson Valley who intend to pursue a career in Civil Engineering.

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Be a high school senior during the current academic year.
  • Pursue a degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Management at a 2-year or 4-year college or university within the United States.
  • Be a resident or attend high school within the geographic area of the Lower Hudson Valley Branch (Rockland and Westchester counties) during the current academic year OR be the child of an ASCE Lower Hudson Valley Branch member.

Candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Academic Performance
  • Financial Need
  • Extra-Curricular Activities/Community Involvement
  • Essay Response
  • Additional consideration will be given to children of ASCE members

Application Instructions:

  • Complete Parts 1-5 of the pdf Scholarship Application Form.
  • Include a typed, original essay (approximately 300-400 words) on a separate sheet of paper describing your career goals and aspirations in the field of civil engineering or civil engineering technology.
  • Include a typed list of any honors or extracurricular activities that you would like to highlight. Include the school years that you were involved and any leadership positions or special contributions that you performed.
  • Sign the application.
  • Mail one (1) copy of the application package with all attachments to:

All application packages must be postmarked no later than April 15th of the current school year.
