Polytechnic Institute of NYU
Located a few blocks from the Brooklyn Bridge, Polytechnic Institute of NYU is the second oldest private institute of technology in the United States. Poly's ASCE student chapter dates back to 1921.
Each spring, the ASCE Metropolitan (Metro) Conference is held at a student chapter in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan Area. Activities at the Metro Conference include speakers, presentations of technical papers, and the regional competitions for the ASCE National Concrete Canoe Competition and the ASCE/AISC National Student Steel Bridge Competition.

The ASCE student chapters that participate in the Metro Conference include City College, The College of New Jersey, Columbia University, Cooper Union, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Hofstra University, Manhattan College, New Jersey Institute of Technology, New York City College of Technology, Polytechnic Institute of NYU, Princeton University, Rowan University, Rutgers University, and Stevens Institute of Technology.

The 2009 Metro Conference was hosted at Polytechnic Institute of NYU from Friday, April 3rd - Sunday, April 5th.
