Andrew Herrmann Elected as ASCE's 2011-2012 President Print E-mail
On Friday, October 21, 2011, Andrew W. Herrmann was inaugurated as ASCE's 2011-2012 President during the Annual Business Meeting at the 141st Annual Civil Engineering Conference in Memphis, Tennessee. ASCE's website includes a video highlighting Andy's career and a transcript of his inaugural address.

Andy served as President of the Metropolitan Section from 1991-1992 and is the ninth past president of the Met Section that has gone on to be the President of ASCE (the others are: Robert Ridgway, 1925; Arthur S. Tuttle, 1935; John P. Hogan, 1940; H. Malcolm Pirnie, 1944; Enoch R. Needles, 1956; Richard H. Tatlow III, 1968; Arthur J. Fox, Jr., 1976; and Joseph S. Ward, 1980.)

Andy is a Principal at Hardesty & Hanover, LLP, where he has worked as a structural engineer for his entire career. He obtained a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Valparaiso University in 1973 a master of science degree in civil engineering from Polytechnic Institute in 1980. Andy is a licensed Professional Engineer in 29 states and the Province of Ontario.
