The ASCE Long Island Branch has been working hard in giving their members interesting and pertinent presentations while helping the Professional Engineers obtain the PDH credits needed to keep their Professional Engineering licenses up to date.

In January,  Kelo J. King, Esq., presented the "ADA Accessibility Update for Engineers". The presentation reviewed the regulatory changes for the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design and reviewed the ADA requirements that applied to existing facilities that were not undergoing alterations under the ADA.

In February, Thomas D. Gibbons, P.E. presented "Crevice Corrosion of Reinforcing Steel in Concrete Structures". The presentation covered the result of chloride corrosion in the crevices of reinforced concrete. It also covered basic concrete materials and their involvement in crevice corrosion.
