| Volunteers Needed for ASCE Annual Conference in Montréal |
For the first time, the ASCE Annual Conference is being held outside of the United States and will take place in Montréal, Québec from October 18-20, 2012. ASCE Region I is providing the local committee for organizing this conference and volunteers to help staff it. ASCE Region 1 is looking for professional and student members to volunteer for a wide variety of tasks, which include assisting with registration, tours, and collecting tickets for meals and receptions.
An interesting new volunteer category is assisting with social media, including Twitter and Facebook. Volunteering for 10 hours of shifts is rewarded with a $100 refund on the conference registration while 4-hour volunteers receive an ASCE shirt. This is a great opportunity for networking with civil engineering professionals from around the United States and Canada. The conference location is in the heart of Montréal, one of the North America's great cities.
