To celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Holland Tunnel and the 75th anniversary of the Lincoln Tunnel, the Hoboken Historical Museum has opened a new exhibit, Driving Under the Hudson: The History of the Holland and Lincoln Tunnels, which will run through July 1, 2012. This will include a talk by Dr. Robert W. Jackson on Sunday, May 20th, who will be discussing his newly published book: Highway Under the Hudson, A History of the Holland Tunnel.
The Holland Tunnel was designated by ASCE and ASME as a National Historic Civil and Mechanical Engineering Landmark in 1982.
